Parts check
- Make sure the Wear Ring is welded to the Impeller (IPQC 1)
- Make sure the Wear Ring is clean and not damaged (IPQC 2, IPQC 3)
- Make sure the Bearing is clean and not damaged
Installing the Impeller Assembly
Instructions:
- Step 1 - Check the Impeller specification (IPQC 4)
- Step 2 - Place the Front Casing Assembly on a clean work surface
- Step 3 - Spray water onto the Pump Shaft
- Step 4 - Align the Pump Shaft and the Bearing and gently slide the Impeller Assembly (IPQC 5)
- Step 5 - Spin the Impeller Assembly. It should rotate smoothly
- Step 6 - Use a piece of tape to remove any metal debris that may be stuck to the surface of the magnet capsule
In-Process Quality Check (IPQC)
- The weld material should not be higher than the Wear Ring surface
- The Wear Ring surface should not be cracked or chipped.
- The Wear Ring surface should be polished and free of debris
- Use a pair of vernier calipers to check the impeller diameter
- The Impeller Assembly should slide smoothly onto the Pump Shaft
